Rebecca Atkinson Courtney was born in Gallup, New Mexico in 1947
and has lived in the Land of Enchantment her entire life; but anyone
living in New Mexico knows that the big skies of the southwest know
no boundaries. The desert's gifts of cloudscapes, colors, and
openness to new ideas have provided constant inspiration for her
paintings. Working primarily in acrylic, her artwork focuses on the color
and movement of nature in our "barren" deserts to bring what is
truly a bounty of life into our living areas.
